Lt. Col. Daniel L. Davis has scathingly called out the official US position on progress in Afghanistan, based on his own personal experiences there. He plans to publish a longer, full report form of this Armed Forces Journal article on his website. (That the official position on Afghanistan is deceptive really shouldn’t come as too much of a shock. This work is still an important read.)
Gravyholocaust - Shocking bulletin from the Department of the Obvious. Who didn’t already know that Afghanistan was a lost cause? Does this guy think we won Vietnam? Even Hafizullah Amin could see this one coming.
